Travel RN – PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | 2 weekend shifts expected every pay period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a progressive care unit with a patient ratio of 1:4, with a maximum of 1:5
• Manage and titrate drips including heparin, Cardizem, and Cardene
• Operate and monitor equipment including IV pumps, Sara Stedy Lift, Roving B450 monitors, and remote telemetry
• Perform procedures including BiPAP/Hi-Flow O2 and titratable drips
• Document patient care using the Meditech EMR system
• Float to inpatient holds in the ED and Med/Surg departments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Texas (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience; must be able to manage drips such as heparin, Cardizem, and Cardene
• Required certifications: NIH Stroke Scale and ACLS
• Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Compliance with dress code: Royal Blue scrubs

Preferred Experience / Skills

• More than one year of PCU experience
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR
• Strong teamwork orientation and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced unit environment
