Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency room environment with an average daily census of 40 and 26 rooms at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Assess, triage, and manage emergency patients across varying acuity levels in accordance with department protocols
• Participate in emergency preparedness events as assigned by unit management, which may include remaining on-site until an event concludes or serving as part of a relief team
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes
• Maintain availability to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) based on departmental needs and staff rotation

Required Qualifications

• Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Room nursing
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI (all must be AHA-issued where applicable; CPI must be obtained prior to start if not already held)
• Epic electronic health records experience required
• Current NURSYS report required with submission (must be within 4 weeks of submission date)
• Two manager or supervisor references required for clearance to start (Charge RN references are not acceptable; PDF format required)
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as measured from the address on file with the driver's license to the facility address) to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered
