Travel RN – Stroke / Med-Surg / Telemetry (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend required; on-call as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed Stroke / Med-Surg / Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 7:1
• Perform neurological assessments and deliver stroke and medical-surgical nursing care
• Perform and assist with procedures including cerebral angiogram, central line insertion, PEG tube placement, bronchoscopy, and urologic procedures
• Conduct IV therapy, wound care, and continuous telemetry monitoring
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
• Float to medical departments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Texas
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry, stroke, or med-surg nursing
• Demonstrated IV skills, wound care experience, and neuro assessment competency

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience as a charge nurse or resource nurse
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
