Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an acute care surgical and bariatric unit
- Operate on a 36/36 schedule with an expected 36 hours per week
- Float to other units as required based on staffing and census needs
- Actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside the provision of clinical care
- Complete compliance modules and orientation requirements, including online computer-based learning (CBLs) during orientation
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical and/or Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience
- AHA BLS certification required (AHA is the only accepted form; all other certifications will not meet compliance requirements)
- Must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing; two attempts allowed — failure of both attempts will result in cancellation
- Must be available to complete drug testing within 12–14 calendar days prior to start date, with availability for a second lab visit if needed
- Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a surgical or bariatric care setting
- Comfort with floating to multiple units within an acute care environment
- Experience or interest in supporting nursing student clinical education
