Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Medical/Surgical and Ortho/Spine unit with a patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Care for a diverse patient population including post-catheterization, lap appy/chole, thoracentesis/paracentesis, stable traumas, HD/peritoneal dialysis, CBI, and spine/joint patients
• Operate and monitor equipment including Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, continuous pulse ox, specialty beds, wound vacs, chest tubes, NG and feeding tubes, and transfer equipment
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Maintain BLS certification and adhere to all unit-specific policies and dress code requirements (grey scrubs)
• Participate in at least one weekend shift within each 4-week scheduling period; float within unit at leadership's discretion

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Tennessee or compact eligibility
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Minimum of 1–2 years of Medical/Surgical RN experience
• Proficiency in thorough assessment, critical thinking, prioritization, and time management
• Ability to adapt quickly and function effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification (optional but preferred)
• Experience with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
• Background in orthopedic, spine, or trauma patient care
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and specialty equipment such as wound vacs and chest tubes
