Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a stepdown/IMC/PCU setting with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias; manage cardiac drips including titration as indicated
• Perform and manage central line care, PICC line management, peripheral IV care, port access, and phlebotomy
• Administer blood products, manage IV insulin and heparin protocols, and provide feeding tube care
• Manage respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), and oxygen administration; interpret ABGs
• Participate in a rotating float to stepdown ICU and ICU units when census is low; expected to work 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a relevant clinical setting
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and Stroke Life Support
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic health records system
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Local candidates are welcome; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous charge nurse experience
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers will be considered)
• Teaching hospital or community hospital background
