Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend and some holidays required | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Telemetry unit in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond to dysrhythmias
• Manage IV insertions, lines, drains, and IV drip therapies including cardiac and insulin drips
• Provide post-procedural care for patients following cardiac catheterization, pacemaker placement or revision, and vascular surgery
• Utilize AIDET communication framework, conduct hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and maintain communication boards
• Document all patient care accurately using Meditech (EBCD) electronic charting system

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas RN License — temporary licenses will not be accepted
• Minimum 2 years of hospital/telemetry or relevant specialty experience
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certification required
• Demonstrated ability to perform telemetry monitoring and work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced clinical environment
• All travelers are required to float per facility floating policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Knowledge of cardiac medications and IV drip management (e.g., insulin, heparin, and other cardiac drips)
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic documentation system
• Experience with patient de-escalation techniques and effective therapeutic communication
