Travel RN – Neuro Critical Care (CCU) | 3x12s – Nights

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed Neurosurgical and Neurological Intensive Care Unit serving patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurologic tumors
• Perform comprehensive and thorough neurological assessments, including care of hemodynamically unstable patients
• Manage and monitor mechanically ventilated patients in accordance with unit protocols
• Utilize specialized equipment including Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer
• Document and manage patient care using Epic EMR
• Float to other inpatient areas when the home unit is at low census, as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Indiana
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience
• Demonstrated experience with care of hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients
• Every other weekend commitment (Friday and Saturday nights)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Pupillometer, External Ventricular Drain (EVD), and ICP waveform management
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Team-oriented, positive, flexible, and empathetic personality with strong interpersonal skills
