Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Every other weekend required (Fri/Sat/Sun nights) | Every other holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed private Stepdown unit with a primary focus on heavy cardiac patients including dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from the ICU
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (up to 1:6 for MedSurg acuity patients)
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently; unit serves as the central monitor station for the entire facility
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin; administer insulin at set rates (no sedation drips)
• Manage patients on BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow oxygen therapy
• Float to ICU as helping hands when needed

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
• Proficiency or ability to work in Cerner/EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• Experience titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Familiarity with BiPAP, CPAP, and High Flow oxygen management
• Experience caring for cardiac and neurological patient populations
