First time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute careTravelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staffPatient Types:CVA/TIA in need of TPA administration; Spinal surgical ACDF, LaminectomyStepdown unit overflow -- AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, s/p Heart Caths, etc.Patient Ratios:RN: 1:3CNA: 1:9Required Certifications:BLSACLSNIHSkills required:Titratable gtts: Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, Levophed request manager approval to offer without this experienceChest tube management, traches, Peritoneal Dialysis, ISTAT, CSF (lumbar) drains (preferred)Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN)Support on the Unit:Charge nurse: may have patient assignmentPhlebotomy in houseIV/VAT Team available 7a-3pRT in houseHospitalist available in houseOT, PT, STTelemetry monitoring: cardiac monitors in each patient room that is connecting to space lab in nurse s station.Remote monitoring as backupNurse responsible for main monitoring and printing strips for each patient per shift.Charting System/Equipment:EMR: Meditech ExpanseIV Pumps: AlarisMedication dispensing: PyxisFloating:Units: Stepdown and MedSurg with ratios of 1:5-6Orientation:Hospital Orientation2 (12hr) shifts orienting to the unitScheduling:Weekend rotation: every otherWill work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week this is mandatoryNight shift will be required to work a 5/2 schedule as illustrated below:One group works EVERY Mon/Tues on the schedule creating a (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday week followed by working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday the next) They work 5 on, 5 off, 2 on, 2 offThe other group work the opposite working EVERY Wed/Thurs (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday then followed by Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat) They work 5 off, 5 on, 2 off, 2 onCan we approve time off?
