Description

Overview:
Join our dedicated team at this Correctional Facility as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). In this vital role, you'll provide essential mental health services to incarcerated individuals, supporting their emotional well-being, rehabilitation, and successful reintegration. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience in a secure, structured environment—with a highly competitive compensation package.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a current LPCC license valid in the state of California.
  • A minimum of 12 consecutive months of relevant experience within the last three years (internships are not considered qualifying experience).
  • Strong proficiency in both spoken and written English to ensure effective communication and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct mental health services under the clinical oversight of the Senior Psychologist or Supervising Mental Health Professional.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Participate in crisis intervention, facilitate group and individual counseling sessions, and conduct in-person assessments, including at cell fronts if necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation, including contributions to Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IOTT) meetings.
  • Perform mental status examinations and review relevant records to inform diagnosis and treatment.
  • Support inmates’ transitions within the facility and assist with pre-release planning, including referrals to appropriate community-based mental health services.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols, maintaining order and minimizing risk.
  • Understand and follow all applicable California and CDCR (California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation) regulations, policies, and procedures.
Nightingale's List Job ID #ZR_220_JOBT. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
