OPEN HEART OR Registered Nurse (CVOR RN)

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Open Heart OR RN to join our cardiac surgical team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cardiovascular surgical procedures, a strong understanding of sterile technique, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in all phases of open-heart and cardiovascular surgical procedures as a circulating or scrub nurse
• Maintain a sterile surgical field and ensure adherence to aseptic technique
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies specific to cardiothoracic cases
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and surgical technologists
• Monitor patient status during surgery and respond to changes promptly
• Document procedures accurately and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards
• Support post-operative handoff to the cardiovascular recovery or ICU team

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the Operating Room, specifically in cardiothoracic or open-heart surgeries
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficient in circulating and/or scrubbing for open-heart procedures
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, surgical protocols, and instrumentation
