Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years Tele-MS
Will accept a first-time traveler: Yes, dependent on experience. Must have strong background in Med Surg
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Floating: Yes, to other med/surg units
Weekend rotation: every other
On call: No
Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
Skills required:
- Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care, strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, solid written and oral communication skills, ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels, and experience reading telemetry strips
- Chest tubes, traches, PIV starts, drain & tubes, PCA pumps
- Gtt management - Amiodarone (occasionally), Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Heparin

Unit Information: 26 beds
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: General Medicine - DM, GI, Resp, Renal, Wounds/Dressing Changes, chest tubes, trachs, lab draws required
Support within the Department:
- CNA: Provides basic nursing care to assigned patients and assist RN where needed
- Receptionist/HUC
- Charge nurse - occasional in modified assignment
- Phlebotomy - for routine, RN responsible for STAT draws
- IV/VAT Team: No
- Rapid Response Team
- RT 24/7
- Hospitalist 24/7
- Intensivist 24/7
- Telemetry monitoring/tech: Centralized Telemetry, sign strips q shift
Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: Epic
- IV Pump: Alaris
- Med dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: n/a
- Unit specific equipment: Phillips Vital Sign equipment, lifts
Schedule cycle: 6 weeks schedule
