Contract Length: 12 Weeks
Schedule: 4x8s or 5x8s (Flexible)

Shift & Call Details

• Shift Options: 4x8 or 5x8-hour shifts per week
• Call:
  • 1 night per week
  • Every 4th weekend and holiday
  • 45-minute call response time
  • 20-minute response time if OB is in active labor

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 12-week contract at a busy surgical department. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in General Surgery, Endoscopy, Ortho, Cataracts, ENT, and OB/GYN, with a particular emphasis on OB emergency cases such as C-sections and postpartum hemorrhage control.

This is a small but fast-paced hospital environment where teamwork and flexibility are key. The CST will also be responsible for Sterile Processing Department (SPD) duties, including instrument sterilization and endoscope reprocessing.

Key Procedures

• General Surgery: Colonoscopy/EGD (Olympus scopes), lap chole (Olympus), hernia repairs
• Ortho: Total knee and hip (Stryker systems), basic knee/shoulder scopes
• OB/GYN: C-sections, suction D&C, postpartum hemorrhage control
• ENT & Cataracts: Routine procedures using standard surgical equipment
• Endoscopy: Strong experience required

Requirements

• Certification: CST preferred (NBSTSA)
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience
  • Strong OB emergency and endoscopy skills required
• SPD Duties:
  • Steam sterilization
  • Endoscope reprocessing
  • Instrument maintenance and tracking
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) required
• Availability: Must be able to meet on-call requirements
