Job Duties

• Perform comprehensive echocardiographic studies, including 2D, M-mode, color Doppler, spectral Doppler, and strain imaging.
• Conduct transthoracic (TTE), transesophageal (TEE), and stress echocardiograms following established departmental protocols.
• Analyze and document detailed measurements and findings for cardiologist interpretation.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal image quality and accurate diagnostic results.
• Review patient medical history, laboratory data, and imaging results to assist in diagnostic evaluation.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Prepare and position patients for echocardiographic procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
• Adhere to departmental and hospital policies, including infection control and patient privacy standards.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Cardiac or Cardiovascular Sonography program.
• Active certification as RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) through ARDMS or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) through CCI.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Illinois state license (must be active and in hand prior to start).
• Minimum 1 year of direct echocardiography experience in a hospital or clinical environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency performing TTE, TEE, and stress echocardiograms.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative clinical team.
