Job Description
- Position: IMC RN DAYS
- Experience Required: 2 years (previous travel experience preferred)
- Shift Options: 36 or 48 hours per week (overtime for hours beyond 48)
- Average Daily Census: 12 patients
- Rooms/Beds: 12
- Staffing Ratios: 1:4
- Float Required: Yes, to all PCU units, med surg, ICU for PCU assignment
- Weekends: Minimum of 6 required
Unit Information
- Medical Intermediate Care Unit with a 1:4 ratio
- Patient diagnoses include medical and neuro conditions
- Standard practice includes free CN and PCT, barring call-offs
- Patients are managed by hospitalist service
- No set or block schedules; weekends and holidays are required
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BCLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH (National Institutes of Health Stroke Certification)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) preferred
Additional Requirements
- Epic Experience: Required
- Orientation: 2 shifts at bedside plus hospital orientation
- Scrub Color: Any (no logos)
Health and Safety Documents
- Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start
- Fit Test: Required within 1 year of start
- Vaccinations:
- Adult TDAP Vaccine (within 10 years)
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
- Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (as applicable)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination (documentation required)
- COVID-19 Vaccination (documentation required)
Background and History Checks
- 7 Year Background Check: Required within 1 year of start
- Work History Verification: Required for all candidates
- Education Verification: Required to verify highest level of education

- Unit-specific skills checklist (required annually)
- Professional references (2 for travel/allied, 1 for per diem non-acute care)
Additional Notes
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation for all travelers
- Must have consent form and government ID on file prior to start for fingerprint registration
