Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Float Pool

Location: [Add Facility & City, State]
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Sat/Sun/Tues | 3x12s

Weekends Required | No Block Scheduling

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join the Float Pool team. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and skilled in caring for critically ill patients across multiple units, including all critical care floors, MTC, Step-Down, and PACU (for patient holds when needed).

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is confident working across various high-acuity units.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive critical care to patients in ICU and related departments.
  • Float between ICU, Step-Down, PACU, and MTC as assigned.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care.
  • Accurately document patient assessments and care in EPIC EMR.
  • Monitor patients on ventilators, titrate critical drips, and respond to emergencies.
  • Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
  • Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as per unit needs.

Requirements:

  • Active RN License (Compact or State-specific)
  • BLS and ACLS (AHA)Required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a similar-sized facility
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Must provide complete demographic details and a badge-appropriate photo
  • Minimal RTO preferred
  • No block scheduling

Holiday & Scheduling Policy:

  • Holiday RTO not approved for the following dates:
    • Nov 26–29
    • Dec 23–26
    • Dec 30–Jan 2
  • Travelers will be scheduled to work either:
    • Christmas Eve/Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day, and
    • Thanksgiving or Black Friday, depending on unit needs.
