Surgical Technologist (ST)

Location: Zanesville, OH
Duration: 13 Weeks (with possible extension)
Schedule: 36–40 hours per week | Start and end times negotiable
Call Rotation:

• Every 2nd or 3rd weekend (split between Call 1 and Call 2)
• 1–2 weekday calls per week (split between Call 1 and Call 2)
• 30-minute response time required
• Possible holiday call rotation based on department needs

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist (ST) to join our dynamic surgical services team in Zanesville, Ohio. This role requires a professional with broad, hands-on experience in orthopedic, neurosurgery, and vascular procedures.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional surgical technique, quick critical thinking, and the ability to handle complex cases in a fast-paced, high-acuity operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team throughout operations, ensuring adherence to sterile technique.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and manage instruments efficiently during procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Ortho, Neuro, and Vascular cases.
• Maintain accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Ensure proper decontamination, sterilization, and handling of surgical instruments.
• Respond to on-call duties within the required 30-minute window.
• Float to General OR and Outpatient Surgery Center as needed based on census and staffing.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program – Required
• BLS (AHA) – Required
• CST certification – Preferred
• Minimum 3 years of recent, diverse surgical experience (Ortho, Neuro, Vascular, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation and central processing procedures
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Must be flexible and dependable, with the ability to work varied shifts and calls
