Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Washington Court House, OH (Adena Fayette Medical Center)
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 Hours/Week | Every Other Weekend

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Adena Fayette Medical Center in Washington Court House, Ohio.

In this role, the RN will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and specialized intervention. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment, excellent communication, and the ability to manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to PCU and step-down patients, managing up to 3 ICU step-down or 4 med-surg patients per shift.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
• Administer and monitor Cardizem drips, manage patients with AFib, DKA, and ETOH withdrawal.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Provide patient and family education to promote understanding and participation in the care plan.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment while upholding infection control and quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active Ohio RN License – Required
• BLS Certification (AHA) – Required
• ACLS Certification (AHA) – Preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience – Preferred
• Experience in PCU, Step-Down, or Med-Surg units – Strongly Preferred
• Proficiency in managing Cardizem drips, AFib, DKA, and ETOH withdrawal patients
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
