Registered Nurse (RN) – Interventional Radiology
Location: Illinois
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Schedule: Day Shift | 36–40 Hours per Week
On-Call Rotation: 2 Nights per Week & 6 Weekends per 13-Week Contract (including Holidays)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in Interventional Radiology (IR) and Interventional Neurology to join our hospital-based clinical team in Illinois.
This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing interventional procedures in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring critical care experience, advanced clinical knowledge, and strong decision-making skills to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care during interventional procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including radiologists and technologists, to coordinate and deliver safe, high-quality care.
- Administer medications and monitor patients under moderate sedation during procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique, safety, and infection control standards.
- Provide patient and family education before and after procedures, ensuring understanding of care plans and discharge instructions.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the EMR.
- Participate in on-call rotation—including weeknights, weekends, and holidays—to support urgent and emergent cases.
- Support departmental performance improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active Illinois RN License – Required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) – Required
- NIHSS Certification – Required (can be obtained during orientation)
- Minimum 3 years of total RN experience – Required
- At least 1 year of critical care (ICU) experience – Required
- Cardiovascular Interventional experience – Required
- Interventional Neurology experience – Strongly Preferred
- Ability to interpret and respond to EKG rhythms (must pass EKG test during orientation)
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills
