Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate ASU/PACU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in Maine. This is a full-time role (36 hours per week), working four 9-hour day shifts with a weekend call rotation.

The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical judgment, excellent post-anesthesia care skills, and the ability to provide safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced recovery setting.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care and monitoring for surgical patients
Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure optimal recovery outcomes
Assess and document patient condition and vital signs accurately
Respond effectively to emergencies and rapidly changing situations
Participate in weekend call rotation as assigned

Qualifications

Active RN license (Maine or Compact)
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including 1+ year in ASU or PACU
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (required)
Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Shift Details

Schedule: 4×9-hour day shifts per week
Call: Weekend call rotation
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Holiday Coverage: Not required
