Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy

Location: Carbondale, IL
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | 40 Hours/Week
On-Call: Up to 2 weeknights and 2 weekend days | 45-minute call-back time
Overtime: Available as needed
Floating: May float to other facilities within the organization

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to join our procedural care team in Carbondale, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in endoscopic procedures, moderate sedation, and perioperative patient management.

This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic and pain management procedures while ensuring safety, comfort, and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
• Assist physicians with a variety of procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube, bronchoscopy, esophageal stent placement, and pain management procedures.
• Administer and monitor moderate sedation in accordance with hospital policy and physician orders.
• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to emergencies appropriately.
• Admit and discharge patients in the perioperative area.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR.
• Ensure all infection control and safety protocols are followed during procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation (up to 2 weeknights and 2 weekend days per schedule).
• Float to affiliated facilities as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active Illinois RN License – Required
• BLS Certification (AHA) – Required
• Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy or Procedural Nursing experience – Required
• Proficiency in moderate sedation, endoscopic procedures, and perioperative care
• Experience with Epic charting system – Preferred
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient education skills
