Description
Med Surg; RN / Observation MS - Day shift - Evansville, IN
Observation MS RN - Days
(40 MILE RADIUS RULE)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start: 12/1 - Bi-weekly orientation
Guaranteed Hours: 36
Shift Requirement: 12hr Days 6:30-7
** Weekend Block option available!
Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS and NIHSS.
Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med/Surg and 1 travel assignment.
Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)
Float Requirement: First to float within skillset.
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.
Patient Population: Cardiac (chest pain, stress test/Lexiscan, post cath without intervention), CVA/TIA, hypotensive, syncope/dizziness, SOB, post-surgical, GI/Urology pre/post procedure, AKI, cellulitis, detox/CIWA.
Skillset: Cardiac cath recovery (femoral/TR bands), post-surgical care (appy, chole, stones), NIHSS/Neuro assessment/dysphagia screen, initiate/titrate drips (Heparin, Insulin), indwelling drain management, straight cath/foley care, NG tube insertion, blood administration/documentation. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
Unit Information: 23 beds. Ratio: Days (0700-1500) 1:4-5; PMs (1500-1900) 1:5-6; Nights (1900-0700) 1:6-7 CN takes patient assignment on all shifts
