Position: RN – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Shift: Nights | 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified (typically 36 hrs/week for 3×12s)

Experience & Skills

• Experience Required:
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
  • Cardiovascular, open-heart, and balloon pump experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
• Required Clinical Skills:
  • Interpretation of dysrhythmias & ABGs
  • Arterial line management
  • IV insulin protocols
  • Central & PICC line management
  • Blood product administration
  • Care of ventilated patients
  • Suctioning (ETT, NT)
  • Starting & maintaining IVs
  • Titration of vasoactive & cardiac drips
  • IABP management
  • Post-cardiac & post-surgical care
  • Interpretation of telemetry
• Interdisciplinary Support:
  PT, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Unit Secretary

Certifications Required

• BLS – Basic Life Support
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• NIHSS – Stroke Certification
• MAB, CPI, or VIP (must be in-person)

Testing & Orientation

• Pre-Start:
  • Relias EKG Exam (pass required prior to start)
  • Onsite EKG Competency (Day 1)
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Modules:
  • 8 clinical hours + 2 non-clinical hours (billable)
  • Modules recorded via transcripts
• Testing: P/F required for ICU (3 attempts allowed)

Time-Off Policy

• RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted with application
• No RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Once approved, RTO cannot be changed (only canceled)

Vaccine Policy

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
• Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
