Position: Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Shift: 3x12 variable – must be flexible to work days or nights
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of recent independent PICU experience (must be within the last year)
First-Time Travelers: Accepted (preferred with prior travel experience, but strong candidates considered)
Weekend Requirement:

  • Must be fully available to work weekends as needed
  • Day shift: 4 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per schedule
  • Night shift: 5 weekend shifts (Friday/Saturday) per schedule
  • One full weekend off per 4-week schedule

Certifications Required: BLS, PALS
Licensure: Active California RN license required
On-Call Requirement: None
Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs (may float to CVPICU and NICU)
Floating to Sister Facilities: No
Block Scheduling: Not available
Locals Accepted: No
Guaranteed Hours: Hours are guaranteed after the facility’s call-off policy has been met

Special Requirements:

  • Experience with ventilators, multiple monitors (specifically CVP and EKG)
  • High-acuity unit exposure: injury, respiratory failure, shock, multi-system failure, poisonings, near drowning, meningitis, post-op cardiac surgical care, neurosurgery
  • Flu vaccination required
