Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D) 💼 Position: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery ⏳ Contract Length: [Insert length, e.g., 13 Weeks] 🚫 Local Policy: No local candidates within 72 miles (strictly enforced) Position Overview: The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join a high-volume, fast-paced obstetrics team. This RN will provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and recovery, while supporting a Baby-Friendly hospital environment focused on patient safety and family-centered care. Unit Details: L&D Beds: 12 Labor Beds Antepartum Beds: 5 Operating Rooms: 2 OB Emergency Room (Triage): 6 beds Birth Volume: 150–200 births per month Staffing Ratios: Follows AWHONN guidelines Charge Nurse: Yes (outside staffing grid) OB Techs/OR Techs: Support C-sections, vaginal deliveries, stocking, and surgical procedures (cerclage, tubal ligation) Lactation Consultant: In-house support available Neonatology & OB Hospitalist: In-house 24/7 IV & RT Teams: Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7 Telemetry/Vents: None Shifts & Scheduling: Shifts: 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Rotation: Rotates with permanent staff Floating: As needed to Postpartum Call Requirement: Minimal; not all contracts include call Floor-Specific Orientation: 2 shifts Requirements: Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Labor & Delivery) Travel Experience: Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Intermediate or Advanced EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) Systems: Fetal Monitoring: OB Trace (FHM System) EMR: Meditech Additional Details: Scrubs: Provided by hospital Common Patient Types: High-risk OB, routine OB, antepartum admissions, and post-surgical maternity patients Environment: Collaborative L&D unit with strong multidisciplinary support and Baby-Friendly designation
