We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse to join our team on a per diem basis. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to provide specialized critical care to patients recovering from major cardiac and thoracic surgeries, including open-heart procedures, transplants, and vascular interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients.
• Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and post-operative recovery.
• Administer medications, manage ventilators, and assist with invasive lines (Swan-Ganz, arterial, and central lines).
• Collaborate closely with physicians, perfusionists, and respiratory therapists in a multidisciplinary team.
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient progress accurately.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in IL.
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or Cardiac Critical Care experience.
• BLS and ACLS required; CCRN certification preferred.

• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
