Description
Physical Therapist (Day Shift – 5x8 hrs)
Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hrs/week
Shift:
- Schedule: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts
Description:
The Physical Therapist evaluates, develops, and implements individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s needs and physician direction. The role focuses on functional recovery and facilitating safe return to community living. Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment progression, documentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and discharge planning. The therapist also educates patients, families, and peers while maintaining compliance with state and facility standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive evaluations and individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to remove barriers to discharge.
- Document all patient care and progress accurately and on time.
- Provide supervision to therapy staff and students, supporting clinical education.
- Maintain compliance with state practice acts, ethical standards, and licensure requirements.
- Promote and uphold Select Medical’s mission, values, and safety culture—focusing on patient and employee safety within the “10 Foot Circle of Safety.”
- Participate in professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Active State PT License – required prior to start
- BLS Certification – required prior to first shift
- Minimum 2 years of experience – required
- Inpatient Rehab or Neuro experience – highly desired
