Unit Profile

  • Department: Emergency Department
  • Number of Beds: 20
  • Patient Ratios: 4:1
  • EHR System: Paragon
  • Patient Population: Various ages (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
  • Shift Options: 7 AM, 11 AM, 7 PM
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
  • Weekend Hours: Rotating
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Orientation: Weekly on Mondays

Position Requirements

  • Minimum Experience: 1 year as an RN
  • Required Certifications: CPR, ACLS, PALS, Handle with Care de-escalation training
  • Float Requirements: None
  • Required Education: Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Dress Code: Scrubs in black, navy, or royal blue; no vulgar/slang language on clothing; no sweatpants or active pants

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Peripheral IV insertion
  • Experience with Stroke, Sepsis, STEMI cases

Work Environment

  • High-paced, high-acuity rural emergency department
  • No call requirements
  • Patient care involves a diverse patient population with various diagnoses and treatments
