Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Nights
Shift: 12-hour Nights (1830–0700)
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Contract Length: 91 weeks
Care Setting: Acute Care
Charting: EPIC
Trauma Level: II
⚠️ Critical Submittal Requirements
- Driver’s license REQUIRED at submission (used to verify 50-mile radius rule)
- Radius rule: Candidate must live 50+ miles from facility
- Candidate may NOT be FT, PT, or PRN with ANY CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility
- RTO must be ≤7 days and submitted upfront; no additional RTO approved
- Fingernail policy: No artificial nails. Refusal = termination of contract
- Orientation exam:
- Pass/Fail exam on Friday of orientation
- Open-book skills exam
- Must score ≥90% or contract is terminated

- Charge Nurse: Yes (typically with/without assignment depending on staffing)

Position Summary
The PCU RN provides specialized intermediate-level acute care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac, neuro, renal, metabolic, and medical needs. RNs must be able to titrate drips, manage high-acuity patient loads, coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure patient safety on a fast-paced 35-bed PCU unit.
