Summary This position is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations using highly technical equipment while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate imaging. Duties include preparing patients, operating MRI systems, administering contrast materials when required, and supporting radiologists through accurate documentation and image preparation. Additional related duties may be assigned. Responsibilities (25%) – Prepare Scan Room & Patient Set up MRI scan room and ensure equipment is ready for use. Prepare patients for MRI examinations, ensuring comfort and safety. (25%) – Patient Screening & Exam Setup Draw up and administer IV contrast as needed; administer oral contrast when indicated. Perform daily equipment warm-up procedures. Enter patient information and scan parameters into the system. Review patient history and prior imaging for accuracy and completeness. Screen all patients for MRI contraindications and explain procedures, addressing questions and concerns. (25%) – Patient Positioning & Image Acquisition Transport patients to and from exam room; assist with positioning for optimal imaging. Assess for allergies before administering IV contrast. Operate MRI equipment following proper protocols, using correct coils, restraints, and accessories. Obtain high-quality images, adding additional or thinner slices as needed. (15%) – Image Orientation & Processing Ensure accurate image orientation and labeling. Enter images in correct sequence with precise attention to detail. (10%) – Documentation & Radiologist Support Prepare complete and accurate records for radiologists. Ensure all clinical information and images are properly organized. Provide additional documentation or data as needed.
