Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Level I Trauma Center)

Location: Knoxville, TN 37920 

Start Date: December 15, 2025 (alternative start date: December 29, 2025)

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurses to join our Level I Trauma Center team. This position requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have prior Cerner EMR experience and be committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Schedule

• Four 9-hour shifts per week (4:00 PM – 1:00 AM)
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week (equivalent to 3 x 12-hour shifts)
• Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 4-week schedule period
• Block scheduling available

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level I Emergency Department setting
• Maintain patient ratios of 4:1 to ensure safe and effective care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Certifications: ACLS and PALS (current and valid)
• Willingness to work weekends as scheduled
• Ability to adapt to high-acuity patient populations
• Pending licenses not accepted
