Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Float Pool Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care across multiple units. In this role, the RN will float between two medical-surgical/telemetry units and support medical-surgical overflow needs in the ICU and Emergency Department. This position requires strong clinical adaptability, excellent critical-thinking skills, and comfort working in fast-paced environments.

The schedule consists of 72 hours every two weeks, and candidates must have prior EPIC experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, competent nursing care to patients in Med-Surg and Telemetry units.
• Provide overflow support for ICU and Emergency Department as needed.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in alignment with facility policies and nursing standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
• Float between assigned units based on staffing and acuity needs.
• Maintain thorough and accurate charting using EPIC EMR.

Requirements

• Active and current Hawaii RN license (must be active prior to start).
• Minimum 3 years of recent nursing experience in Med-Surg and/or Telemetry.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• BLS required; additional certifications may be requested depending on unit needs (e.g., CPI, ENPC, NIHSS, STABLE, ASLS, etc.).
• Ability to float confidently between units and work with diverse patient populations.
• Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts and provide holiday coverage as needed.
