This Pre-Op RN position offers the opportunity to work in a compassionate, inclusive, and excellence-driven care environment. You will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

 

Job Summary

The RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse ensures that patients and families receive individualized, high-quality pre-operative care. This role upholds professional nursing standards as defined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. Nurses practice within a collaborative model that supports evidence-based care, shared decision-making, and optimal patient outcomes.

 

Core Responsibilities

1. Exemplary Clinical Practice

  • Perform the full Nursing Process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practice.
  • Deliver relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to age, condition, and cultural needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, ensuring education, involvement, and shared goal-setting.
  • Maintain compliance with current clinical practice standards.

2. Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Coordinate and document safe, high-quality patient care in alignment with the professional care delivery model.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary communication such as rounds and care planning discussions.
  • Support a respectful, inclusive team environment and assist in fostering staff retention.
  • Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and professional practice activities.

3. Professional Development

  • Complete all mandatory education, competency validations, and population-specific training.
  • Serve as a mentor or preceptor to peers, students, and newly hired staff.
  • Demonstrate initiative in promoting a positive and professional workplace culture.

4. Evidence-Based Practice & Quality Improvement

  • Incorporate evidence-based practice into daily care to improve patient outcomes.
  • Take part in data collection, quality improvement activities, and protocol updates.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.

5. Resource Management

  • Plan care proactively across the continuum to support safe and efficient workflows.
  • Participate in developing processes and protocols that improve patient care outcomes.
  • Support efficient use of staffing and material resources.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in alignment with organizational policies.
Required Qualifications Education • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Licensure & Certifications (required upon hire) • Active Georgia RN License or Compact RN License • Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA or American Red Cross Experience • Minimum 5 years of direct patient care nursing experience required Skills • Strong clinical and critical-thinking skills • Effective communication and teamwork abilities • Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based care • Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced perioperative environment
