Radiologic Technologist
Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee
Tallahassee, Florida
Pay: $31.88 to $36.97 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Contract Term: January 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026
Join the medical team at FCI Tallahassee and support daily imaging services for the inmate population. You will work in a controlled clinical setting and follow all federal security procedures. You will provide routine and urgent radiology services without direct supervision.
Your responsibilities
• Perform routine radiologic exams ordered by medical staff
• Operate digital and analog imaging equipment
• Complete chest, bone, skull, spine, and portable studies
• Explain procedures and support patient safety
• Recognize abnormal findings and notify ordering providers
• Maintain logs, exam records, and imaging files
• Schedule exams and manage daily workflow
• Support equipment checks, calibration reviews, and quality control
• Follow infection control standards and CDC precautions
• Assist with preparation for inspections and program reviews
• Coordinate transfer of imaging records for continuity of care
• Follow all federal security and safety requirements
Requirements
• Two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
• Completion of an approved Florida radiologic technology program
• Current unrestricted state license
• ARRT registration
• Current CPR
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations
• Ability to pass federal background checks, fingerprinting, drug testing, and security clearance
• Proof of credentials and professional liability insurance
Work environment
• All exams are completed inside the Health Services Department
• You will sign in and out daily for security tracking
• You will receive orientation on correctional procedures
• You must follow all facility policies and maintain professional conduct
• Delays may occur due to security conditions
