Job Summary – Registered Nurse 
Shift: Day | 3x12s
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care by adhering to established nursing care plans and ensuring safe, effective clinical practices. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while promoting a supportive and collaborative patient-care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify patient and family teaching needs; provide education throughout the care process.
• Participate in weekly Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences; ensure timely, accurate documentation.
• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Initiate discharge planning from day one of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to providers and Charge Nurse; seek consultation as needed.
• Supervise and delegate to ancillary nursing staff, ensuring effective prioritization and problem-solving.
• Promote a safe work and patient environment by following safety protocols (10-Foot Circle of Safety).
• Ensure unit operations run smoothly; maintain equipment, supplies, and cost-effective practices.
• May assume Charge Nurse responsibilities after orientation.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and continuing education.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience
• BLS Certification
• ACLS certification
