Description

Job Summary – Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Phoenix, AZ 
Trauma Level: I
Unit: Respiratory Therapy (Acute Care)
Shift: 12-hour shifts (Days or Nights: 6a–6:30p / 6p–6:30a)
Start Date: 01/05/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
Scrubs: Black
Charting: Cerner

Cancellation Policy: Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract
(3 shifts for assignments < 13 weeks).

 

Required Certifications

  • BLS (AHA)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)NBRC
  • AZ RT License IN HAND
  • Strong ICU experience (2+ years required)
  • Cerner experience

For NICU-capable RTs:

  • NRP required
  • Prefers NICU experience

Skills / Equipment Requirements

Must be proficient with at least one:

  • Servo-I (listed twice in original)
  • Jet ventilators
  • Oscillators (HFOV)

Must be able to:

  • Assist with bronchoscopies
  • Run all vents, BiPAP (V60), CPAP
  • Perform all ABGs
  • Respond to Clinical Response Team calls
  • Handle high-acuity critical care

Workload:

  • ~35–40 procedures (RVUs) per RT per day

Unit/Workflow Notes

  • Very high acuity; Level I trauma
  • 2-day unit orientation + skills validation
  • Assigned to a specific area per day (no outpatient float)
  • Lead RT on every shift
  • Every other weekend OR 4 weekend shifts/month
  • Part of holiday rotation
  • Excellent communication & time-management skills required
