Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide care within assigned specialty only, floating across Boise, Meridian, and Nampa facilities.
  • Manage patient ratios based on unit: ER 1:4, ICU 1:1–2, MedSurg 1:5, Tele 1:4, Peds 1:3, NICU 1:4.
  • Titrate drips as applicable on ICU, ER, Tele, MedSurg, and PICU units.
  • Provide set-rate or titratable medications as required (MedSurg commonly insulin; others per unit).
  • Interpret cardiac monitoring when assigned to ICU, ER, Tele, or PICU.
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, techs (ratios typically 1:8–10), and float pool leadership.
  • Participate in 3 days of inpatient orientation plus meet-and-greet day.
  • Float first among staff, with possible mid-shift floating across units or facilities as needed.
  • Work 12-hour shifts (0700–1900 or 1900–0700) with scheduling assigned based on staffing needs.

Requirements
Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty.
  • Previous travel experience required.
  • L&D travelers: strong preference for antepartum and mother–baby experience.

Licenses & Certifications

  • BLS required for all specialties.
  • ACLS required for ER, ICU, and Tele.

Education

  • RN degree required.
