Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (MICU RN)

We are seeking an experienced MICU RN to join our Medical ICU team in a high acuity, fast paced environment. The MICU RN provides continuous, specialized care for critically ill medical patients, including respiratory failure, sepsis, multi organ dysfunction, and complex chronic disease exacerbations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessments and manage critically ill medical patients with rapidly changing conditions
• Monitor and manage ventilators, noninvasive respiratory support, and airway emergencies in collaboration with RT and providers
• Titrate vasoactive and sedation drips, manage invasive lines, and interpret hemodynamic data per protocol
• Administer medications, blood products, and advanced therapies while coordinating labs, imaging, and procedures
• Recognize and respond quickly to deterioration, initiating emergency interventions and rapid response as needed
• Collaborate with intensivists and the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans
• Support patients and families with education, critical updates, and end of life or complex care discussions
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (state specific or compact)
• Minimum 2 years of recent MICU RN experience in the same specialty
• BLS required; ACLS required
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and advanced cardiac monitoring skills
• Comfortable with ventilated patients, sepsis protocols, vasoactive drips, and high acuity medical cases
