Akron, Ohio Nursing Job Details

• Location: Akron, Ohio (44304) – Ohio healthcare jobs
• Unit: 4 East Detox (14-bed inpatient unit)
• Employment Type: Travel RN Contract
• Start Date: December 14, 2025
• End Date: March 7, 2026
• Contract Duration: 12 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Floating: Required to Behavioral Health (Psychiatric) and Med/Surg units
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (ASN or BSN from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program)
• CPI Blue Card from Crisis Prevention Institute (required for psychiatric nursing jobs)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Detox experience as a Registered Nurse
• Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months
• Ability to float to Behavioral Health and Medical-Surgical units
• Proficient in blood draws and IV management
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Interview required; please provide availability
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to patients undergoing detoxification from opiates, benzodiazepines, and alcohol
• Monitor patient status, administer medications, and manage withdrawal symptoms
• Perform blood draws and IV management
• Collaborate with addiction medicine physicians and social workers for patient assessment and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
• Float to Behavioral Health and Med/Surg units to support patient care
• Promote a safe, therapeutic environment using CPI de-escalation techniques
• Work every other weekend and participate in team-based care
