Hiring Process Candidate interview with the MedSol Clinical Team No Unit Manager involvement Radius Rule: 60 miles – Driver’s License must be submitted Travelers are expected to float throughout the entire 60-mile zone. Travelers must obtain housing that allows them to meet floating requirements. Orientation Week: Clinicians must be in-state during orientation week, even if Day 1 modules are remote. Unit/Department MS–Tele Float Pool Float Pool Coverage Travelers may float to multiple MS–Tele units covering various specialties, including: General MS–Tele Cardiac Neuro Oncology Rehab Renal Bariatrics Ortho Trauma ED Observation Nurse-to-Patient Ratios 1:5–6, based on acuity Required Certifications BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) NIHSS Common Diagnoses / Patient Population Adult–geriatric population, including: Cardiac Neuro Ortho Oncology Renal Urology (post-surgical) General Surgery (e.g., post-appy) Gynecology Psych/Detox ENT General Medicine Long-term stable placement patients Many additional med-tele diagnoses Experience / Must-Have Skills Minimum 2 years MS–Tele experience within the last 3 years Neuro experience preferred Alaris pump experience preferred EPIC experience preferred Drip Requirements RNs must be able to manage and titrate Heparin Other common drips may be used depending on float location Charge Nurse / Leadership Dedicated Charge RN on each unit Charge does not typically take patients unless necessary More common for night-shift charge to take a small patient assignment Ancillary Support Nurse Aides available RT available with vents, CPAP, BiPAP support Telemetry: monitor tech availability varies; RNs may be required to read strips Shifts & Scheduling 12-hour shifts (7a–7p / 7p–7a) Schedule created by leadership in 6-week blocks Travelers must be flexible and help fill staffing gaps All RTO must be submitted before assignment start Weekend Requirements 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule Holiday Requirements May participate in the holiday rotation Call / Standby Rare; may occur during low census periods Floating Requirements (Acuity) Travelers may float to: ICU (low-acuity holds, within skillset) PCU/Stepdown MS–Tele Zone 4 Float Locations (Base: Garden City, KS) Travelers must be available to float to all Zone 4 hospitals: Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital 415 N Main St, Ulysses, KS ~54 miles from Garden City St. Catherine – Dodge City 3001 Avenue A, Dodge City, KS ~54 miles from Garden City St. Catherine – Garden City 401 E Spruce St, Garden City, KS Primary location Float assignments will vary by schedule and will be communicated on or before your Monday start date.
