Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Nights
Location: Albany, GA 31701
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Start Date / Duration: 12/15/2025 – 17 weeks

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide high-quality respiratory care in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate must be comfortable managing critical care patients, including intubation, ventilator management, and advanced airway procedures. This role requires the ability to handle high patient volumes, make independent clinical decisions, and function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
- Perform advanced procedures including intubation, bronchoscopy, and arterial line placement in ICU
- Operate and manage ventilators, adjust settings based on patient needs, and interpret ABG results
- Provide bedside pulmonary function tests and respiratory therapy treatments, including CPT, nebs, BiPAP, CPAP, and vapotherm
- Serve as Charge RT and Clinical Coordinator when required
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and nursing staff to optimize patient care
- Monitor patient status and alert clinical teams to critical changes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
- Assist with patient education and family instruction regarding respiratory care
- Participate in orientation for new staff and mentoring less experienced therapists
Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Skills:
- Advanced airway management, including intubation and bronchoscopy
- Mechanical ventilation management (adult, pediatric, and neonatal if applicable)
- Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
- Pulmonary function testing (PFT)
- Proficiency in EMR documentation (Meditech 6.1)
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy treatments: CPT, nebulizers, BiPAP, CPAP, vapotherm
- Critical thinking and decision-making in acute care settings
- Effective communication and teamwork with multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize care under pressure
Qualifications:
- Current RRT license and GA State License
- RRT certificate through NBRC
- Minimum 2 years of experience, including at least 1 travel contract
- Experience in critical care, adult ICU, and ventilator management required
- Certifications: AHA - BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Comfortable handling high patient loads and complex respiratory cases
