Shift: Nights, 3x12-Hour (19:00 – 07:30) Staffing ratio: 1:1–2 Scrub color: Navy Blue Job Summary: CVICU RN – 2.5 years of CVICU experience required (within the last 6 months) First-time travelers accepted with strong experience Perm candidates from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) eligible if separated ≥3 months Active compact licenses honored at all Swedish facilities Patient Diagnoses / Procedures: Cardiovascular disease, pre/post Cath Lab and IR procedures, fresh open-heart surgery CABG, AAA, valvular repairs, TAVI/TAVR IABP, Impella, VADs, pacemaker management CRRT/Dialysis, ECMO Hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management (including high-frequency vents), CPAP/BiPAP, trach care Procedural sedation, rapid sequence intubation, blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation Unit / Staffing: Surgical ICU and Neuro ICU Unit has unseasoned staff—strong travelers required Post-cardiac surgery care (direct from OR and not directly from OR) Required Skills & Experience: Cardiovascular: ECMO, TAVI/TAVR, IABP, post-cardiac surgery care Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols Renal: CVVHD/CRRT, chronic/acute renal failure IV Therapy: Central line, PICC line, arterial line, ports, starting IVs, blood product administration Medications: Continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips Respiratory/Thoracic: Chest tube care, ventilator management, HFNC, ABG interpretation Neurological: Hypothermia protocols, CVA/acute stroke management Professional: Infection prevention, isolation precautions, surgical wounds with drains/Wound Vac Charting: EPIC preferred Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, CRRT (Prismaflex) Orientation: 3 days; validated skills for select competencies
