Job Description

The ICU Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to critically ill or unstable patients who require close monitoring and advanced life-support care. The RN follows physician orders, uses advanced equipment, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess critically ill patients’ condition and vital signs.
• Administer medications, IV infusions, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
• Operate and manage ventilators, cardiac monitors, and other life-support equipment.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and perform emergency interventions.
• Document patient care, assessments, and changes accurately and in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care.
• Coordinate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• Active RN License.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• ICU or critical care experience preferred (new grads may be considered depending on facility).
