Job Title: Registered Nurse – Med Surg

Location: Cheshire Medical Center (Kingsbury/Thompson Units) – Keene, NH
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: 36 hours/week, every other weekend & holidays required
Guaranteed Hours: 36
Contract Length: 91 weeks
On-Call: None

Holiday Coverage Requirement – Mandatory

Travelers must work ONE of the following combinations:

• Christmas Eve / Christmas Day + Friday/weekend after, OR
• New Year’s Eve / New Year’s Day + Friday/weekend after

Assignments ending in November or before holiday start dates will NOT be extended into 2026.

NH Temporary Health Care Service Agency License – REQUIRED

Must upload the New Hampshire Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Certificate with submission.
Applications cannot be considered without it.

Additional Restrictions

• No local travelers (must live 50+ miles from facility).
• No shift accommodations (no block scheduling, no special requests).
• Traveler must have their own vehicle.
• All RTO must be included in the profile at submission—no exceptions after offer.
• All medical/occupational health compliance items must be completed within 5 days of offer, with documentation uploaded to Trio.

Position Summary

The Med Surg RN coordinates total nursing care for adult/geriatric patients, provides patient and family education, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of nursing practice.

This position includes caring for patients on the Kingsbury custodial unit, which has lower acuity and a higher patient ratio (up to 9:1). Floating to the Thompson Unit may also be required.

• Thompson Unit: Floating required
• EMR: Epic

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care following the nursing process.
• Coordinate and document patient care effectively.
• Participate in patient and family education.
• Communicate changes in condition to physicians and clinical leadership.
• Collaborate with ancillary staff and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain professional nursing standards in a clinical setting.
• Float as required (Kingsbury custodial patients and Thompson unit).

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent Med Surg RN experience
• Active New Hampshire RN license
• New Hampshire Temporary Health Care Service Agency License (REQUIRED for submission)
• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• EPIC experience
• Must have personal transportation
