Job Title: Registered Nurse – Med Surg Tele

Shift: 12-hour Nights
Schedule: 36 hours/week (guaranteed, no cancellations)
Contract Length: 91 weeks
Care Setting: Acute Care
Trauma Level: Level 3

Unit Overview

• Unit Type: Med Surg Tele (MS with Telemetry capability on all 10 beds)
• Total Beds: 10
• Charting System: Allscripts – Sunrise
• Scrubs: Any color (not provided)

Patient Ratios

• Days: 1:5
• Nights: 1:6
• Pediatrics: 1:4 (acuity-based)

Unit Support Staff

• Telemetry Techs
• Charge Nurse
• Health Unit Coordinators (HUCs)
• Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)

Note: Nurse managers do not take patients but do participate in rounds.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide Med Surg Telemetry nursing care for adult and pediatric patients.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry.
• Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care across varying levels of acuity.
• Float to all Med Surg units and to ICU (to care for Med Surg overflow patients).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and unit support staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation within Allscripts – Sunrise EMR.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Med Surg acute care experience
• ACLS – AHA
• BLS – AHA
• NIHSS
• Ability to float to MS units and ICU (for MS-level patients)

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS (preferred, not required)

Additional Notes

• BSN not required.
• License to submit allowed.
• Cancellation policy: Up to 3 cancellations per 13 weeks.
