Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cath Lab RN Traveler for a 13-week contract at a major academic medical center in the Morgantown, WV area (JW Ruby Memorial Hospital / WVU Medicine). The ideal candidate will be responsible and accountable for planning, directing, assessing, and providing care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, with a commitment to quality, safety, teamwork, and patient-centered care. This role requires the ability to take call, orient new staff, precept students, and assume Relief Charge duties as assigned. EPIC charting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, assess, and provide nursing care according to hospital mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures.
• Deliver high-quality care with professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, and good public/customer relations.
• Complete applicable hospital and department-specific RN competencies within 3 months of hire/transfer.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Provide patient and family education to support optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active West Virginia RN license in hand at time of submission (or compact license) – willing to wait on license if needed.
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Cath Lab experience in an acute care setting.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only).
• Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles of facility.
• Previous perm employees of WVU Medicine must have been separated for 2+ years.
• Previous travelers who completed 1 full year at WVU Medicine must have been gone for 2+ years.
• Unexpired copy of driver’s license MUST be included with submission.

Preferred:

• EPIC experience.

Schedule

• 40 guaranteed hours per week – 4x10-hour shifts (variable start times, typically 0600-1630 or 0900-1930).
• Call required (including weekdays, weekends, and holidays).
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Cancellation policy: Maximum 2 shifts per 13-week contract.
