ECHO / Cardiac Sonographer – Unit Notes

50-Mile Radius Rule Applies

Certifications: BLS required; RCS or RDCS for Echo
Dept Setup: Hospital has 5 echo rooms; Clinic has 3 (walking distance). Floating between sites required.
Studies/Duties: Complete transthoracic echo, myocardial strain, bubble studies, contrast imaging; assist with TEE. Must follow ASE guidelines.
Volume: Avg 8 studies/day
Systems: EMR – EPIC; PACS – IBM Merge
Equipment: Philips EPIQ & iE33
Leadership: Non-Invasive Supervisor; Cardiologist on-site
Other Requirements: May start IVs if trained/checked off
Schedule: 8:30a–5:00p; possible weekends & holidays; no call
Dress Code: Any color scrubs; not provided
