Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care Travel Assignment

Location: Burlington, NC 27215

Start Date: January 13, 2026 

Duration: 13 weeks 

Contract Hours: 36 hours/week

Schedule: Mon–Thurs 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Fri 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Role Overview

Cone Health is seeking a Wound Care RN for a 13-week travel assignment. This role involves direct wound care, patient assessment, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. First-time travelers are welcome.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of wound care nursing experience
• Direct wound care experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Clinic experience preferred
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred

Clinical Competencies

• Assessment and management of nutritional status, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, neuropathic ulcers, peripheral arterial ulcers, cellulitis, edema, melanoma, necrotic debris
• Peripheral Arterial Disease evaluation (Ankle-Brachial Index)
• Wound staging (Stage 1–4)
• Proficiency with wound care modalities: alginates, enzymatic debriding agents, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, sharp debridement, silver products, skin substitutes, wet-to-damp dressing changes, wound cultures, wound vac therapy
• Infection control practices

• Up-to-date resume documenting wound care experience and any travel assignments
