Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Location: Sumner Regional Medical Center – Gallatin, TN Type: Travel Assignment

Overview

Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring medical/surgical support with continuous cardiac monitoring, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit
Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs and telemetry readings, and document care accurately
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery goals, and discharge instructions
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee (or compact license eligible)
Minimum of 2 years of recent medical/surgical or telemetry nursing experience in an acute care setting
Strong clinical assessment and cardiac monitoring skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Experience with electronic medical records systems; Meditech experience preferred
Required Education: Associates of Nursing

Assignment Details

Contract length: 13 weeks, with potential for extension
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Nights)
Weekend and holiday coverage may be required
